BALOO Training

BALOO Training is scheduled March 10, 2012 from 9 AM to 2:30 PM at Newell Shelter, Cary Camp.  Fee:  $10.00.   Click here to access downloadable pdf flyer / registration form.  

National Youth Leadership Training 2012

The 2012 NYLT course is scheduled for June 10 - June 15th at Camp Buffalo. This program is designed to develop the leadership skills of youth to help them carry out a successful Scouting program.

Cub Scout Shooting Sports Instructors Course

March 17, 2012 at 10 AM Sharp

Camp Buffalo Indoor Ranges

Fee:  $5.00

Registration Deadline:  March 29, 2012  (First 20 Applicants)

Contact Council Service Center at 765-452-8253 to register.

 

Certification is valid for two years.  Training cards will be given for completion.  Approximate time for each (BB Gun Instruction & Archery Instruction) is 4 hours or 8 hours total for both classes.  Bring a sack lunch, water bottle and dress according to the weather.  Class B uniform.  

Adult Age Requirements for Instructors:

BB Gun Instructors - Must be 21 years or older

Archery Gun Instructors - Must be 18 years or older

Course Instructors:  Mike Nielander, Craig Quigg, Frank Rose, Dale Romack, and Jeanetta Romack

Council Training

The 2012 Council training schedule is set and it is headed by Wood Badge slated for April 27-29 and May 18-20. The course director, Randy Rusch, is aiming to have a full class of 48 Scouters. Access registration form via the link below. The Wood Badge course for youth, called National Youth Leadership Training, is scheduled for June 10-15 at Camp Buffalo. Students and staff are needed for this important youth training experience. 

A big thanks to all the volunteers who helped at the 2011 University of Scouting. It was a great day and 133 Scouters took 103 required courses plus numerous others. Mark your 2012 calendars for November 3 – the date of University of Scouting. All dates are listed below.

ARE YOU FULLY TRAINED?

At the end of 2010 ALL adults associated with Scouting, in every position, must have current Youth Protection Training (with in the last two years). At the end of 2011 ALL registered Scout leaders need to be fully trained for their position. What does it take to be fully trained? What does it take to wear the "TRAINED" patch?
